Fowl Mood Racing Returns to Victory Lane at Brighton Speedway; Battle for Can Am Championship Unfolds This Friday Night

After getting rained out last week at both Chapmanís Can Am Motorsports Park and Brighton Speedway, Phil Potts and the Fowl Mood Racing team were anxious to get back to the track this past weekend.  Unfortunately, as the team battles for the track championship at Can Am events were once again rained out this past weekend, leaving Brighton Speedway as the teamís only destination for last week.

It was a tough start to the night at Brighton last Saturday, with some significant damage during a fourth place finish in the qualifying heat race.  Potts and the Fowl Mood Racing team made the necessary repairs and were ready for battle in the 30 lap main event.  Potts rolled off the starting grid from the 10th position and moved forward quietly in the early stages of the race.  He was the first to jump up to the outside lane of the very fast and tacky surface and it paid dividends as he made his way to third place by lap 22.  With five laps remaining, Potts continued on the high side to take the lead and checked out on the field to score his fifth overall win of the 2014 season (2nd win at Brighton).
